South Downs April 2007
With weather as perfect as it was, everyone enjoyed the first WOW weekend of the year. We stayed in a pub with rooms in the South Downs, near Chichester, and had beautiful walks on the Downs, with far-reaching views, and near the sea at Bosham. Our meals, taken in the pub were delicious, and there was plenty of laughter, chat and a few games. "I think you’ve got it spot on. And I really ...
Black Mountains May 2009
Eight women gathered on Friday afternoon for a weekend of walks in wall-to-wall sunshine, during which we climbed two mountains, saw bluebells still very much in flower at the end of May, and heard many different birds singing. Skylarks flew vertically above us singing to distract us from their nests. We were tantalised by the calls of cuckoos we couldn't see, until suddenly two flew across our path as we climbed Sugar Loaf Mountain, helpfully ...
Cornwall Walking Meditation October 2009

We did a circuit of Nottingham Hill, walking out from the back of the hotel, and passing a beautifully refurbished equestrian centre. Then, after tea and cake kindly provided for us by Manfred, our host, ...
Lulworth Cove July 2010
Eight of us enjoyed a hot sunny weekend of glorious walks on the Dorset coast. Five women arrived in time for a Friday afternoon walk ...
Peak District August 2010
After such a dry start to the summer, I suspected we might be in for some rain for our long weekend at Losehill Hall, Castleton, but in the event, we had just a little, most of it on Friday afternoon, as we climbed Cave Dale, passing the Norman remains of Peveril Castle, onto the limestone plateau. The rain eased off enough to give us views to Mam Tor and the Great Ridge (our Saturday walk), ...
