Cornwall Walking Meditation October 2009
As soon as everyone arrived at the Bluff Centre, we walked down to the beach below, and some of us took off our boots and paddled in the rather chilly sea. We had a mixture of sunshine, wind and showers for our walks, first along the dramatic coastal path, some of the group visiting Tintagel, with its castle, attributed to King Arthur, the rest continuing along the coastal path where we all joined up to see St Nectan's Glen, with its beautiful and unusual waterfall and reputed healing properties. Another day some of us walked on Bodmin Moor, climbing two tors and visiting a Bronze Age stone circle which is one of the oldest in the country. Each morning and evening Gillian led the group with exercises and meditation, sometimes watching the spectacular sunset from the centre on the cliff top. Our last walk was from Boscastle, up the leafy Valency Valley, visiting the Minster Church and finally being buffeted by wind around the headland as we walked into the harbour from the clifftop. We finished our retreat in a circle with an affirmation to life! We loved it there, and hope to be back soon. You can see Gillian's website here: www.gillianlenane.co.uk. Perfect venue, great setting, wonderful meals, great hosts. Walks were very enjoyable, just the right length and challenging without being too difficult. Denise This has been just what I needed-a chance to disengage from usual routines and worries and focus on what really matters. Great walks, all different, making best use of the variety of surrounding landscape experiences. Androulla more on Testimonials page
