Cotswolds October 2008
It was truly an Indian summer for our walking weekend at the Cleeve Hill Hotel, and we enjoyed hot sunshine on all our walks. On Saturday we spent itme exploring Hailes Abbey, on our route, where the sunlight on the Cotswold stone looked sublime. We were treated to the cheerful whistle of the Gloucestershire steam train as we walked by, and towards the end of the walk passed Sudeley Castle. Some women stayed to sample the tea shops in Winchcombe, others drove to Cheltenham to look at the shops. On Sunday we climbed up Cleeve Hill directly behind the hotel, then had a look inside Belas Knap long barrow. We were served a welcome cup of tea at the hotel before departing for home. The last WOW weekend of the year was probably the sunniest and driest. "A fantastic long weekend break, just right to recharge batteries. Well organised and pitched at the right level." Veronika "A wonderful weekend with a very considerate and helpful guide." Jo. more on Testimonials page
