Lulworth Cove July 2010

July 2-4, (2 nights-Friday-Sunday)

A weekend of exhilarating walks on the Dorset coast, with accommodation just a few hundred metres from the cove, at the Cromwell House Hotel. From here we can walk straight from the door, east or west along the glorious Jurassic coast, with wonderful views from the cliffs, such as Durdle Door, or onto the hills behind. The hotel is comfortable, 2-star and family run, and all rooms have ensuite facilities. Some rooms have sea views, and there is a heated outdoor pool for a refreshing swim if the weather is hot. There could be an opportunity too for a dip in the sea, so make sure you bring your swimsuit! There is an interesting visitor centre nearby where you can find out all about the famous geology of this part of the Jurassic coast, and we may see the remains of an ancient fossil forest nearby, from one of our walks. Meals will be taken in the hotel, and there is a terrace outside the dining room where we can enjoy a cream tea or a drink before dinner. This weekend will be guided by Barbara, who led the Lulworth weekend with me in 2007. She is an experienced walk leader who knows the area very well.
